A playful work exploring the experience of the sound waves of the Aborigine bull roarer and their creative, magical power in stories of the Dreaming, this piece was an instinctive work which attempted to join aspects of aerial landscape forms into a visionary context. In some ways, this work is a developmental drawing which started out life really as an idle doodle which got out of hand and ended up being a large format work. This is an improtant part of my practice - I feel that doodles come from a place where the mind is idle and often older - or stranger - themes can emerge without the daylight brain's interference.
