Based on a previous piece And I Saw Two Birds Of Paradise Kissing In Flight, this image was one of a series of three developed towards seeking a new artistic style and produced for my first participation in an exhibition. However, this image does significantly differ from the original both in intent and content. Whereas the former was somewhat romantic in intention, this piece expresses much more the joy of being alive. It features the enduring image which I have come to call the Desana image, from a petroglyph of the Sun located in Desana territory in the Colombian Amazon, and depicts an observer's joy at seeing a Bird Of Paradise flying across a sky filled with the magical influence of the Sun's rays.
