An expression of how Still Bay and the ancestors of the people of Melkhoutfontein opened our human eyes for the first time and then migrated out across the world. The foreground shows a fusion of the Blombos and Strandloper cultures to suggest a continuity of life in the region, and imaginative images inspired by ancient finds at Diepkloof Shelter, Blombos and the Drakensberg Mountains (to the lower right) create a tableau of ancient South Africa, while trails of people hunting, planting, ploughing recede into the rest of the world. This design was not used for a mural in the town: it is in some respects a variation on the same themes expressed in Blombos: We Are All South African in 2009.
