A simpler scene inspired by rock art in the Western Cape made by the /Xam and Khoi peoples and their ancestors showing the relationships they had with their principal prey animal, the eland. Hunting scenes are shown, and the reverence with which the hunters viewed the eland is suggested at the bottom right. More magical attributes are seen above, with masked dancers enacting mythical scenes we no longer understand. This relatively simple design was radically transformed into a much clearer narrative when it came to creating the actual mural: see the final mural at Samantha's mural here.
