:: TIARZECATAR :: THE THIRTEEN SONGS ::
:: ELEVENTH SONG :: SEYEZENCATAR :: THE SONG OF THE HEAVENTRACK ::

The Flying Water People see that Ana and Atlai are in pain because they long for each other but Heaven and Earth are separated. So they decide to create the Heaventrack to link the two worlds. Xactona flies into the branches of the tree Mintxac, and begins to sing, flapping her wings. As she does so, the tree grows, its branches and leaves rising into the sky. She leaps up and flies around the tree, creating a swirling upward air current. Macatle joins in, flying up to the tree, flapping his wings and making strange chattering noises which makes the tree grow faster. Then he too leaps up and flies around the tree, following Xactona – the air current becomes a whirlwind. Tirahuia flies up and makes wordless music in the branches before leaping out to join Xactona and Macatle, swooping and wheeling to make the whirlwind resonate. From out of this maelstrom, a flute, a bull roarer and a drum fall to earth.

The three Flying Water People come together in this whirlwind and as they touch, Perozon, the nightingale, the spirit of all music, springs into being. S/he combines all the Flying Water People's songs and chatterings and flies up to Heaven, creating as s/he does so the most beautiful song heard in the darkness of the highest skies. The leaves of the Mintxac tree and the light from Heavenly starlight is so delighted by the nightingale's music that it forms itself into a pathway between the Heavenly Garden and the top of the tree. A burst of love spreads out across the cosmos as Ana and Atlai realise they can be together again.

io to min, the watery origin
sings of the Heaventrack emerging
born of starlight, born of leaves,
sings of the Heaventrack emerging

Ana gazes, sets her eyes upon the Heavens,
sings in sorrow to the Man of the Stars,
Atlai gazes, sets his eyes upon the Earth,
sings in sorrow to the Woman of the Rivers,
the Flying Water People know their pain

Ana gazes, separated from her love,
desires a track to the Heart of Heaven,
Atlai gazes, separated from his love,
desires a track to the Heart of Earth,
the Flying Water People know their separation

seeing that
sorrow can turn to joy,
sensing that
separation can reunite,
we will forge the Heaventrack

song of Earth, song of Heaven,
Xactona flies into the branches of the Mintxac tree,
flapping of wings, shimmering of feathers,
into the lower branches of the Mintxac tree
Xactona turns sorrow into joy

prayer of Earth, prayer of Heaven,
Xactona leaps and flies around the Mintxac tree
rising of leaves, rising of breezes,
a flute falls to Earth from shimmering feathers
the Mintxac tree begins to grow

chattering of Earth, chattering of Heaven,
Macatle flies into the branches of the Mintxac tree,
flapping of wings, shimmering of leaves,
into the middle branches of the Mintxac tree,
Macatle turns separation into union

magic of Earth, magic of Heaven,
Macatle leaps and flies around the Mintxac tree
rising of leaves, rising of winds,
a bull roarer falls to Earth from shimmering leaves
the Mintxac tree reaches out to grow

music of Earth, music of Heaven,
Tirahuia flies into the branches of the Mintxac tree,
flapping of wings, shimmering of starlight,
into the upper branches of the Mintxac tree,
Tirahuia turns absence into presence

transformation of Earth, transformation of Heaven,
Tirahuia leaps and flies around the Mintxac tree
resonating of leaves, resonating of whirlwinds,
a drum falls to Earth from shimmering starlight,
the Mintxac tree completes its growing

seeing that we come together and touch,
seeing that Perozon emerges into being,
the spirit of music combines our three songs,
the spirit of music flies up to Heaven,
feathers, leaves and starlight form the Heaventrack

and so we have sung and made magic,
have forged the Heaventrack,
have reunited Ana and Atlai,
we, the Flying Water People,
here we sing and sing

here in the sheltering World Tree,
music of the highest skies,
magic of the uniting of Heaven and Earth,
here we sing and sing

io to min - "Hail the Source!"
